Halloumi Fries.

Halloumi fries are always part of my order if I see them on a menu, and these homemade ones are the perfect treat.

You will need (Makes 16-20 fries)

  • 2 x 225g blocks of halloumi cut into sticks

  • 75g golden breadcrumbs

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion granules

  • 1 egg

  • Garnish - pomegranate seeds, hot honey, finely sliced spring onions

Method

  1. Cut your blocks of halloumi into thick sticks, each block should give you 8-10

  2. In a bowl, mix up your breadcrumbs with the oregano, cayenne pepper, garlic powder and onion granules. In a separate bowl, whisk your egg

  3. Dip your halloumi sticks into the egg, making sure all sides are coated and then transfer to the breadcrumbs coating all the sides.

  4. Bake for 10mins on each at 180 degrees or air fry on 180 degrees for 15 minutes.

  5. Top with your desired garnishes, I used hot honey to cut through the saltiness of the halloumi, pomegranate seeds and finely sliced spring onion.
