Sticky Sesame Green Beans.
This is now one of my favourite sides for quick meal and it’s also been perfect for working from home lunches as an alternative to a salad when it’s been warmer! This dish works both hot and cool.
You will need (Serves 2-3)
250g green beans
1-2 cloves of garlic
1tsp grated ginger (around an inch size piece)
1 tbsp honey
2tsp sesame oil
1 tsp sesame seeds
Salt to taste
Method
Trim your beans and wash well. I shake off water in a colander but do not properly dry them as you need some steam to cook.
Heat 2tsp sesame oil in a pan and add your beans and grated garlic and ginger. Fry off for a couple of mins, stirring consistently.
Add a 2tbsp water to the pan, making sure the beans are in a single layer to steam and cook, I don’t add a lid for this! Give them a mix around after 1-2 mins.
Once the water has evaporated, add the honey, mixing well so it coats all the beans. Add salt to taste and sesame seeds.
Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with more sesame seeds and serve!
