Sticky Sesame Green Beans.

This is now one of my favourite sides for quick meal and it’s also been perfect for working from home lunches as an alternative to a salad when it’s been warmer! This dish works both hot and cool.

You will need (Serves 2-3)

  • 250g green beans

  • 1-2 cloves of garlic

  • 1tsp grated ginger (around an inch size piece)

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 2tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Trim your beans and wash well. I shake off water in a colander but do not properly dry them as you need some steam to cook.

  2. Heat 2tsp sesame oil in a pan and add your beans and grated garlic and ginger. Fry off for a couple of mins, stirring consistently.

  3. Add a 2tbsp water to the pan, making sure the beans are in a single layer to steam and cook, I don’t add a lid for this! Give them a mix around after 1-2 mins.

  4. Once the water has evaporated, add the honey, mixing well so it coats all the beans. Add salt to taste and sesame seeds.

  5. Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with more sesame seeds and serve!
